Let’s face it, everyone’s bullshit radar is at an all time high! They’re ignoring billboards, radio ads and who reads the newspaper anymore?
Just like other shifts in marketing trends, you have to go where the consumers are spending most of their time. In today’s market, that meeting space of people is online. More specifically social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.
On the Wednesday March 21st (Week 12) session of CAKE we focused on getting your business going on Facebook and Twitter. Why these two sites? They’re the two most popular and regularly visited social networks today.
Derek Wyatt, co-founder of CAKE & marketing strategist, shared how there is a science of when to be online and how to present your message. A common concern about marketing online is that it’s time consuming. It doesn’t have to be if you use the right tools. At CAKE we recommend a couple of nifty apps that help schedule your twitter content out so you don’t always have to be online: Buffer App & Hootsuite.
The best part of these two sites is that their free option is tremendously useful. When it comes to sharing your message on Facebook there is no replacement for using the site itself.
We cover all of this and more in the two videos below:

On next week’s CAKE on March 28th we will have a special guest speaker, Heather Lloyd-Martin of SuccessWorks to talk about SEO for your small business. Don’t know what SEO means? Head on over to seocopywriting.com and poke around.
